Job Description
There’s an adrenaline rush in every sport, and the same is true for planning and design. ISG is excited to bolster our team with an enthusiastic Architect to support our Sports and Recreation Business Unit. As an Architect, you will be an ISG Employee Owner working collaboratively with your fellow employee owners to develop creative solutions. Noted as an Emerging Professional Friendly firm by the AIA, this role provides immense opportunities to learn and strengthen skills, lead, and mentor team members with the development and design of projects.
ISG is looking to immediately expand our team as we provide unmatched services for our Sports and Recreation clients—crafting exceptional facilities that truly set them apart. Our ideal candidate will have valuable depth and breadth in our industry, and at a minimum will be a skilled communicator with a passion for award-winning design who possesses valuable technical knowledge, provides proven leadership and displays great problem-solving skills. We’ll need you to jump in headfirst on a broad range of sports-related work, including collaboration between diverse design teams, clients, and stakeholders serving collegiate athletics, collegiate recreation, community recreation, and more, nationwide.
In this role, you will work closely with Jeremy Wiesen, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, Architecture Group Leader and Amanda Prosser, PLA, Vice President and Sports and Recreation Business Unit Leader. You will also collaborate with ISG internal resources for design and project collaboration, project execution, code review and evaluations, specification writers, visualization specialists, and construction administrators. Here are a few recent projects:
- Sanford Sports Complex, Sioux Falls, SD
- Minnesota State University, Mankato – Hockey Training Facility
- Albert Lea Hammer Complex, Albert Lea, MN
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Work interactively with clients, other design professionals and the public in a creative environment on a broad range of unique sports-focused projects
- Work directly with clients in all phases of design process to construction, including master planning, documentation, funding development, programming, and presenting
- Communicate project goals, objectives, design standards and procedures with project managers and multi-discipline team
- Serve as a mentor and build the team
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to connect and promote ISG’s solutions to clients
- Ability to communicate ideas empathetically and visually through both written and verbal communications
- Ability to represent ISG and clients in public forums
- Bachelor's or master’s degree from an accredited architecture program
- Licensed to practice architecture
- Familiarity in Revit, Adobe Suite and Sketchup computer software packages
