Position Information Position/Rank Tenure track/Rank dependent on qualifications Department 00269 - Orthopedic Surgery Operations City Salt Lake City, UT Track Tenure Track New Position to Begin ASAP Details The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for a tenure track faculty position for a fellowship trained Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeon. The rank will be determined based on the chosen candidate’s qualifications. The successful applicant will be part of a busy sports service that cares for athletes of all ages and abilities, from professional and college-level athletes to high-school athletes and weekend warriors, within an outstanding academic Orthopaedic Department. Team coverage will be an expected aspect of the work performed. Minimum requirements include completion of a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and a one-year advanced fellowship training in operative sports medicine plus board certification or board eligibility. Interest and experience in developing an academic practice and performing clinical outcomes research and/or basic science research is expected. Applicants should have a sincere desire to develop and mentor others to develop focused clinical, research and educational programs in musculoskeletal disorders, which will include publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national meetings. Overall, candidates need to have demonstrated an exceptional academic interest and a clear track record of excellence in all aspects of orthopaedics, including clinical care, education, and clinical or basic science research.
