Kids In Sports in Walpole is currently looking for an energetic person who enjoys teaching children. Our mission is to teach children the fundamentals of sports in a organized, safe, supportive and fun environment. Our programs are fast-paced, highly energetic and super fun. We are in search of someone who would like to join our team working a few nights during the week and on Saturdays.
Sports Coach
Reporting to the Class Director, Coaches focus efforts and attention on continuous improvement of the Kids In Sports programming. Coaches ensure that Kids In Sports curriculum, teaching practices, and company standards are upheld by all coaching staff before, during, and after any Kids In Sports offering (class, camp, party, or event). This is a great opportunity to work in a fun environment!
What is Kids In Sports?
Kids In Sports is a specialized sports program for children ages 12 months - 10 years old. We teach the fundamentals of baseball, basketball, flag football, floor hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball through our multi-sport or sport-specific classes. Additionally, Kids In Sports runs several Mini and Summer Camps and also hosts Birthday Parties. Through the emphasis of sportsmanship, teamwork, respect and communication, our program serves as a building block for young athletes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Class Director with sports activities during classes, camps and parties.
- Provide encouragement and coaching during activities to help children gain skills and have a healthy attitude toward competition.
- Represent Kids In Sports in a positive attitude.
- Consistently set an energetic and enthusiastic tone.
- Monitor the safe use of equipment and manage positive participation among all children.
- Greet and dismiss children from programs.
- Complete efficient and accurate transitions.
- Lead sports stations.
- Prepare, store and clean equipment.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Positive, outgoing and energetic.
- 1-2 years experience working with children 1 - 5 years old in sports or recreational activities.
- Customer-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Passion for sports and children.
- Must speak English.
- Must provide documentation of legal U.S. residency.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend and lift up to 50 lbs. sports equipment and supplies.
Hours & Schedule:
- Part time (8-12 hours per week)
- Looking for someone to work: A few weekday evenings & Saturdays (8:00am - 4:00pm)
Compensation:
- Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 /hour
