RN CVICU - Peds (Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU Nurse)

About the Job

We are looking for a dedicated Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU Nurse (RN CVICU) to join a team providing critical care for pediatric patients. The position is based in Austin, TX, at a leading healthcare facility specializing in treating congenital heart diseases, post-surgical repairs, heart failure, arrhythmias, and transplants. This is a 12-hour shift, three days per week, offering a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a high-acuity environment.

What youll be doing:

• Assist in delivering critical care to pediatric patients with congenital heart diseases, including post-surgical care and management of heart failure and transplant cases.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, documenting changes and communicating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Work closely with physicians and other nurses to ensure seamless patient care, particularly in high-acuity settings.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient health status and care provided.
• Actively engage in the facilitys transition to practice programs to enhance clinical judgment and patient care skills.

Requirements:

• 2 years of ICU experience with a minimum of Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience.
• Certifications: BLS and PALS required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in ICU and 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU in overflow.
• U.S. work authorization (Green Card or U.S. Citizen).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
