Job Title: Nurse Supervisor (alternate Director of Nursing)

Reports to: Director of Nursing

Location: OH

Salary: $35/hr-$45/hr

 

Our community is experiencing a nursing shortage, so we're hiring more staff to fill that gap and help the people we care about. We are looking for a Nursing Supervisor to coordinate our team of caregivers and guarantee quality patient care. Ideally, you thrive in a desk job but are willing to get out in the field, as needed, and visit patients in their homes. Additionally, you would serve as Director of Nursing on an alternate basis. Some Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support staff in effectively using community resources while being a leader and a supporter
  • Manage the daily workload of each district, leveraging the capabilities of our personnel, and oversee the weekly schedule
  • Maintain standards by supervising district nurses and Home Health Aides (HHAs) (recertifications, discharges, Aide supervisory visits, etc.)
  • Examine medical records for clinical content, diagnoses, medication history, fee status, and other procedures related to patients
  • Assess the performance of nursing and HHAs team members during their probationary period and provide annual teaching and counseling necessary to enhance the quality of services and the professional growth of staff members
  • Review the initial intake screening form to identify and assess the patient's needs and the appropriateness of home care before assigning staff

 

Minimum Qualifications

We're looking for excellent listeners who understand that this position goes beyond just working a shift. It is important to us to understand the effects of social and economic problems on patients and provide them with emotional and physical comfort. Please apply only if you meet the following criteria:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school
  • Registered Nurse licensed in Ohio
  • Criminal background check
  • Current CPR certification (NOT an online one)
  • Great communicator, verbally and in writing (English)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Comfortable with use of multi-line telephone, calculator, and medical nursing equipment (i.e., glucometer)
  • Able to bend, stoop, reach, and move patient (weight up to 250 lbs.)
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Sufficient hearing, eyesight, and physical dexterity to assess patient health and perform care (when in-home supervision is needed)

 

Things you should know: High possibility of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Not all patients' homes are wheelchair accessible.

 

Plus Point: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a professional nurse in a Home Health Agency
