Job Description
As a Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist / Registered Nurse, you will:
- Screen, assess, and evaluate a participant’s nutritional status.
- Evaluate participant’s nutritional status through dietary assessment and make recommendations in relation to nutritional needs.
- Refer participants to community programs for specialized nutrition services / food assistance.
- Determine eligibility of participants for WIC program based on nutritional status.
- Promote breastfeeding to prenatals. Work with postpartum participants who are experience difficulties with breastfeeding. Make referrals to lactation consultant as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be a Registered Dietitian or eligible, Registered Nurse, or possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Family & Consumer Science with an emphasis in Nutrition.
- One-year experience in Maternal and Child Health or Clinic setting, with teaching responsibilities preferred.
Education Requirements:
- If a Registered Nurse, graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- If a Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or Nutrition Sciences, Public Health Nutrition, Community Nutrition, or Clinical Nutrition.
