About the IVF Nurse Role and REI/IVF

  • The clinic offers a full range of assisted reproductive technologies (ART), including IVF, egg retrieval, and embryo transfers, along with fertility preservation and genetic testing options.
  • The RN works with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful IVF outcomes, managing IVF treatment plans, medication administration, and coordinating procedures like egg retrieval and embryo transfer.
  • Provide patients with IVF protocol education, emotional support, and guidance throughout their fertility journey.

Skills and Experience for an IVF RN:

  • Must hold a valid RN license, with experience in women’s health, reproductive endocrinology, or OB/GYN nursing preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain treatments clearly, manage patient expectations, and collaborate with the fertility team.
  • Ability to manage multiple patients and handle time-sensitive IVF procedures and medications efficiently.
  • Experience working with physicians, embryologists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate and optimize patient care.
  • Precision in managing complex treatment schedules, lab results, and patient records to ensure successful IVF outcomes.
  • Ability to educate patients about medication schedules and treatment plans while offering emotional support throughout the fertility process.
  • Strong understanding of fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and medication protocols (preferred).

Education/Degree for IVF Nurse:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure, Certifications, or Registration for an IVF Nurse:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • CPR certification required
