RN FIRST ASSISTANT!

LOCATION: Lewiston, ID

SHIFT:Day: M-F, 7:30am - 5pm

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent

Job Description:

An RN First Assistant (RNFA) is a specialized perioperative nurse who directly assists the surgeon during operations. This expanded role requires a strong foundation in perioperative nursing, enhanced through formal training and hands-on experience. In addition to assisting with surgical procedures, an RNFA must understand growth and development principles across all age groups to provide safe, appropriate care throughout the lifespan.

The RNFA also fulfills broader perioperative responsibilities, including scrub and circulating duties, meeting all requirements outlined in the Operating Room RN position summary. This role is critical to ensuring surgical procedures run smoothly and patient outcomes are optimized.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 3 years perioperative RN experience required.
• Licensed (or licensure eligible) to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of Idaho.
• Required to provide documentation of completion of RNFA course.
• CNOR certification required.
• Must meet requirements to obtain allied health privileges through medical staff credentialing.
