Job Description:

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Med Surg Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team at Round Rock. This full-time night shift position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment within a 101-bed, full-service teaching hospital, which is Magnet designated. As an RN in the Med Surg department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care, conducting clinical assessments, and developing and implementing care plans that address the needs of our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and prioritize the needs of patients and their families.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans to achieve desired patient outcomes, making adjustments as necessary.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort and maintaining professionalism.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare decisions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create and follow through on patient care plans, delegating tasks as needed.
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address patient care challenges, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
• Contribute to the growth and development of your peers, and show a commitment to community service.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active and valid nursing license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, disease prevention, management, and common medications.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and scheduling systems.
