Avid is hiring a Clinical Manager, RN.
The Clinical Manager (RN) is a leadership role and is responsible for the oversight of a multi-disciplinary team including PCAs, CNAs, Nurse Aides, LPNs, and RNs. The Clinical Manager develops and supervises their clients’ care as well as the case management of their overall needs according to a physician’s plan of treatment orders. Clinical Manager provides supervision, training, and education to support a team of field employees in the provision of an effective and appropriate utilization of home care services.
This position will be in-office and based out of the Rockingham branch and covers Richmond County and the surrounding counties.

Clinical Manager, RN
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for proper case management of their clients’ needs and services according to state, contractual, and agency regulatory and standards of practice.
- Oversees client assignment of care, clinical integrity of practice, and compliance of documentation by all staff on the interdisciplinary care team.
- Manage client intake assessments from all referral sources while continuing to seek new referral opportunities to support branch operational growth goals.
- Responsible for generating client plan of treatment and care plan assessments according to a physician’s order.
- Build relationships with clients to encourage compliance with care plans and client safety.
- Manage client/contract satisfaction with the highest level of customer service standards, communication, and documentation.
- Ensure all forms of communication with clients, families, health plan providers, and caregivers are documented timely to promote continuity of care across all interdepartmental functions.
- Responsible for maintenance of client files based on company policies and procedures.
- Orient and supervise field employees to client care plans and provide remedial training and mentoring as needed.
- Evaluate clinical competence in the area of practice through direct observation, skills assessment and performance appraisals, and accurate documentation capture at the point of care.
- Assess competency during supervisory visits in the field during client clinical assessments.
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities as assigned and assist with documentation integrity audits in the field as part of performance improvement incorporating results into performance appraisals.
- Conduct audit review of caregiver’s daily documentation logs to ensure compliance with client’s ADL and IADL needs.
- Utilize counseling and appropriate disciplinary action when agency professional standards are violated.
- Follow up, investigate, and document all clinical concerns and incidents within the agency’s timeframe.
- Monitor and maintain clinical report books, including Infection and Occurrence/Complaint Reports
- Participate in all general office administrative operations including on-call responsibilities to ensure business continuity.
- Follow Agency Policies and Procedures and ensure all HIPAA regulations are adhered to.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Registered Nurse (RN) who is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON)
Licensure: Must have a current, unencumbered license as a Registered Professional Nurse. Must be in good standing in the applicable state of practice. Must maintain all state and federal compliance requirements for licensure and employment.
Travel: Travel is required for business purposes. The employee must have a valid driver’s license issued by the state in which they work, a satisfactory driving record, and an operational vehicle.
Work Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
- Two years of nursing experience with compromised pediatric and adults.
- Prior experiences that would encompass clinical, teaching, management and supervisory practice within a nursing service organization is preferred.
- One additional year of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital, is required for conducting applicable training classes.
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, weekends and holidays as needed. Occasional need for flexible hours to meet the educational needs of staff and agency. Able to rotate calls and respond to assist as needed while on call.
Skills and Additional Requirements:
- A specific understanding of geographical/cultural requirements of branch office is preferred.
- Must be customer service oriented and prepared to liaise with clients, their families and other care providers.
- Ability to use computerized systems.
- Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident working independently.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
