OVERALL JOB FUNCTION

Supervise the planning, directing, and coordinating of assigned shift across multiple departments; utilizing labor and resources to ensure effectiveness; while meeting safety, quality, scrap, and efficiency goals of the company.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

  1. Safety and Food Safety
    • Follow and enforce all safety and general company policies being proactive in approach to both
    • Follow and enforce all quality spec and food safety policies, communicating any issues with necessary leadership team members
    • Verify housekeeping checklists and shadow board items
    • Perform 2 quality checks per machine running on shift
  1. Staffing, Schedules, and Communication
  • Work with Human Resources to keep track of proper staffing levels of the Product Auditors and Machine Operators
  • Assist in maintaining proper training records, disciplinary records, time and attendance records, commendations or awards and requests for new employees.
    • Support Training Supervisor by assuring adherence to training schedule of new and existing employees, connecting with any trainees/trainers at least twice per shift to answer any questions/concerns
  • Assist Production Leads with shift schedule based on staffing levels and priority list
    • Effectively communicate and coordinate information exchange within shift and between different shifts, working with shift leads.
  1. Includes scheduling and deployment of all departmental resources to ensure the maximum utilization of personnel and equipment
  2. Reading/replying to email communications throughout the shift
  3. Connecting with PDC employees throughout shift
  1. Documentation and Data Entry
    • Verify any raw material or finished goods placed on hold have proper documentation complete.
    • Ensure all data entry and paperwork are being completed accurately, properly and maintained within each of the departmental systems, ensuring proper procedures were followed.
      1. Includes performing product audits, transfers and labeling
      2. Assuring complete and accurate quality inspections/audits on all stages of products, processes and materials
    • Enter all previous shift production data into daily report and close any jobs that finished on your shift.
  2. As necessary, assist management to improve the overall effectiveness of the department
  3. All other duties as assigned
