Security Officer (Night Shift: Monday thru Thursday 2:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and Friday 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)

The successful Security candidate will provide professional, timely and courteous service to company employees, clients and the public. You must function effectively and contribute as a member of the security team to the mission of security, which is to provide for the safety and security of all O.C. Tanner employees, Clients and public.

Required Experience:
  • Candidate must be dedicated, hardworking, and honest.
  • Being careful to maintain the highest degree of integrity and respect to all O.C. Tanner employees.
  • Must also be able to maintain information in the strictest confidence and discretion.
  • This ideal person must be service-oriented and able to communicate cheerfully, respectfully and effectively with all employees, clients and visitors who come into the company's facilities.
  • Will be responsible for the safe and secure transportation of all high value inventory, materials and equipment. Being careful to safeguard all proprietary information and property belonging to O.C. Tanner.
  • Able to remain alert and attentive to detail while monitoring access control systems, alarm systems and secure surveillance camera systems.
  • Must be a quick learner, computer literate and effectively learn the needed skills to operate all technical security equipment and computer software.
  • Able and willing to respond to the first aid needs of the employee population and public at large.


Additional Requirements:
  • Relate and communicate well to all employees and clients and the public is a critical need
  • Write concise, pertinent and timely reports, security logs and investigative reports is also a critical skill for this position
  • Function effectively in a team environment and remain engaged to improving themselves in the job while contributing to the overall mission of the department
  • Flexibility with scheduling as you will occasionally work another shift
  • Required to respond to after-hours alarms as the needs of the department dictate. Including being on-call shifts during weekends, holidays, etc.
  • Must obtain concealed weapons permit within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Firearm experience is required for this position.
