Overview:

The Phelps Residence Inn is looking for a talented Rooms Inspector/Inspectress to work alongside Our executive and Assistant Housekeeping Manager.

The Rooms Inspector/Inspectress would be responsible for inspecting rooms for cleanliness and maintaining housekeeping standards throughout the hotel. You must be able to carry out the responsibilities while the other managers are not on property such as: build boards, open/close system, make sure there enough clean rooms for the shift and make sure that all associates have cleaned up to Marriott Standards Etc.

Rooms Inspector/ Inspectress would assist housekeeping managers in caring of all materials being used throughout the hotel and hotel staff. Understands the Marriott/PHG standards and procedures in laundry and cleaning rooms. Will check and inspect rooms, commercial areas to ensure that they are up to standards.

On a daily basis some tasks you will complete are:

  • Completes maintenance requests for guest rooms as needed.
  • Ability to react with guests in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
  • Reports any guest complaints to managers immediately and resolve guest challenges with the appropriate actions.
  • Cleans guest rooms or assists in laundry when needed.
  • Performs all duties when necessary by management.
  • Providing training and guidance for housekeeping staff on hotel Standard Operating Procedures and departmental standards.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, lift, and stand for the shift worked.


Qualifications:

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

? Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment.

? Ability to read, write and communicate in English in order to complete forms such as a room status report and meet guest needs/requests.

? Ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates.

? Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

? Ability to exercise judgement and implement control over the performance of subordinates.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education:

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High School education preferred.

Experience:

Minimum six months supervisory experience or one year of comparable Housekeeping experience acceptable.

Note: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. All employees, both management and hourly, must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands.
