Job Summary

The Housekeepng Houseperson cleans and maintains all corridors, vending areas, elevators and landings and service areas on guest room floors, ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness. He/she will provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and stock floor closets. He/she delivers and retrieves items requested by guests and Floor Supervisor. We are looking for a professional Housekeeping Houseperson that is able of attending to Conrad Nashville with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation.

Job Duties
  • Check assigned floor closets and complete linen requisition to replenish linen supplies.
  • Stock linen closets with linen and supplies. Transport linen carts to appropriate floor closets and stock according to diagram.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets; remove trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and wax floor; remove non-floor closet items and transport to proper storage areas.
  • Clean designated areas with proper chemicals, tools and equipment. This includes guest room corridors, floor closets, service areas, stairwells.
  • Thorough knowledge of proper chemicals when cleaning as described by the department's procedures.
  • Remove all dust, debris and foreign particles from upholstered furniture, including crevices and under cushions. Dust and polish all woodwork.
  • Dust pictures, frames, mirrors, fire extinguisher boxes, exit signs, air vents.
  • Remove dust, spots and smears from windows, frames and ledges; wash windows as assigned.
  • Remove dust, grease and smears from house/public phones and reposition properly.
  • Inspect condition of planters and plants; remove debris, polish planters.
  • Remove dust, dirt, marks and fingerprints from doors and door frames.
  • Remove stains, scuff marks, and dust from baseboards, ledges and corners. Thorough knowledge of proper carpet and upholstery care policies and procedures.
  • Empty trash containers in public areas on designated floors.
  • Report any damages or maintenance problems to the Supervisor.
  • Turn over any lost and found items to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Anticipates guest needs, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness, ensuring complete guest satisfaction and repeat business
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Conrad Nashville standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming, which include wearing a correct nametag and uniform when working.
  • Know and understand all the services and amenities the hotel offers.
  • Report all maintenance problems or safety hazards by filling out a work order for engineering.
  • Must always practice proper safety rules to ensure the safety and security of all guests and team members (issuance of keys, not announcing room numbers and fire procedures).
  • Have a working knowledge of the hotel's safety procedures and equipment as well as emergency plans.
  • Fulfill all guest requests and deliver special request items such as cribs and rollaway beds to guest rooms.
  • Perform heavy cleaning daily in high use areas.
  • Maintaining storage rooms in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Adheres to OSHA regulations and hotel policies and procedures regarding emergencies, safe work practices, and wearing of protective gear as necessary
  • Attend all training/meetings as required by management.


Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year housekeeping/cleaning experience
  • Minimum of 1 year hotel experience

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, guests etc.
  • Passion for hospitality and customer service focused.

  • Can communicate well with guests, supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor


Physical Requirements
  • Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred

Skills and Experience (Essential)
- 18 years of age
- Valid US State Driver-s license or an international driver-s license.
- Housekeeping experience
- Communicate in English with guests, management, staff, and co-workers to their understanding
- Knowledge of effective organizational practices
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Skills and Experience (Preferred)
- Housekeeping experience preferably at a four-star property
- Fluency in Spanish
