Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for providing a clean, orderly, safe, and attractive environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Three years of experience in housekeeping, one of which was in a long-term care environment.
Job Functions:
- Provides direction and guidance for the housekeeping staff.
- Participates in the hiring, disciplining and evaluation of housekeeping employees.
- Conducts inventory of personal items of new residents.
- Inspects facility cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control, and takes corrective action.
- Participates in facility “Performance Improvement Program.”
- Orders supplies, checks shipments, and conducts inventories.
- Monitors supply usage for appropriateness and efficiency.
- Prepares work schedules and maintains adequate staffing.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Skilled in directing and motivation the workforce.
- Ability to communicate effectively with resident and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of infection control techniques.
