Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for providing a clean, orderly, safe, and attractive environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Three years of experience in housekeeping, one of which was in a long-term care environment.

Job Functions:

• Provides direction and guidance for the housekeeping staff.
• Participates in the hiring, disciplining and evaluation of housekeeping employees.
• Conducts inventory of personal items of new residents.
• Inspects facility cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control, and takes corrective action.
• Participates in facility “Performance Improvement Program.”
• Orders supplies, checks shipments, and conducts inventories.
• Monitors supply usage for appropriateness and efficiency.
• Prepares work schedules and maintains adequate staffing.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Skilled in directing and motivation the workforce.
• Ability to communicate effectively with resident and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of infection control techniques.
