About the Role
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for assignments of guest room attendants, heavy porters and specialty crews and will assist the Housekeeping Managers in the daily operation of the department.
Position Responsibilities
- Monitors cleanliness and maintenance standards of all associate and public areas in the Hotel tower including but not limited to, guestrooms, storage areas, linen closets, public and service elevators/landings and corridors
- Monitors guest room attendants in the proper placement of guest amenities in rooms
- Performs functions related to hiring and staffing of Housekeeping Department
- Coordinates and supports the training and development of Guest Room Attendants and Housekeeping Heavy Porters and Lines/Supply Attendants
- Works to ensure the safety of team members in handling and storage of all chemicals used in the performance of their task
- Ensures the proper staff is scheduled to main the Hotel
- Exercise financial responsibility in monitoring both regular and overtime payroll expense
- Continually checks to make sure team members have all the necessary supplies, equipment and tools to execute their task
- Accountable for ensuring that the necessary equipment, machinery, guestroom supplies and linen are readily available to enable the Department to function efficiently
- Fully utilize and monitor all operating systems to ensure proper accountability of all employees, supplies and procedures
- Coordinates efforts with other Departments to ensure guestroom, public areas and storage areas remain fully functional
- Properly handles guest or maintenance request and repeatedly follows up to guarantee these things are completed to Ocean Casino Resort standards
- Maintains confidentiality of Ocean Casino Resort proprietary information
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to servicing customers in a fast pace environment
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the hotel areas
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shift hours
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
Requirements
What’s Required
- Strong supervisory skills
- High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
- Minimum of five years’ hospitality experience
