JOB TITLE: Shift Supervisor

SHIFT: Third (10PM-6AM)

A successful Shift Supervisor will have knowledge in or be able to achieve the below Job Qualifications.

Education/Experience
  • Two-year degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent experience preferred
Essential Functions, Knowledge and Competencies
  • Able to effectively supervise and manage people
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8-10 hours or more), frequent bending and twisting
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to deal with stressful situations in a calm and controlled manner
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Must understand the proper use and the limitations of standard inspection measuring and test equipment
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have vision correctable to 20/20
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Basic computer skills
Responsibility/Authority May Include:
  • Provide supervision and management in all areas of production during assigned shift
  • Responsible for employee safety
  • Ensure product quality and production output for all employees
  • Employee training as needed
  • Set high standards, provide strong leadership and coaching to direct reports
  • Promote a team-based environment, positive atmosphere, open door policy and harassment-free environment
  • Ensure personnel are qualified prior to allowing them to perform operations
  • Delegate to appropriate personnel, ensuring decisions are made at the appropriate level
  • Support plant goals and objectives
  • Initiate cost reduction programs through effective problem solving and process improvement efforts
  • Safety advocate, promoting and enforcing safety standards
  • Perform annual employee reviews and make personnel recommendations
  • Ensure the quality of PE products meets or exceeds customer requirements
  • Attend routine meetings to discuss quality system and production related issues
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and FDA regulations
  • Support Material Review Board as needed
  • Coordinate emergency response activities on assigned shift
  • Handle discipline issues as needed and communicate issues to Group Lead and Human Resources
  • Train employees as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • All production staff on designated shift
