Description:DescriptionFor 75 years and counting. Southwest Electric Co. is an electrical services and equipment provider for energy generation companies and a variety of industrial markets. We offer a wide range of services, including engineering and design for custom product development.
Southwest Electric Co. Is looking for a 3rd shift Welder in Oklahoma City.
There is a 10% Shift differential for 3rd Shift.
Work Schedule is Sunday- Friday 56 hours per week.
Sunday - Wednesday 7pm- 5:30 am Thursday and Fridays 9pm- 5:30 am
Welder Summary:
Provide welding support to a manufacturing operation. Interpret and understand manufacturing instructions, and transformer manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to MIG, TIG, stick weld, braze, operate cutting torches, and plasma cutter to AWS standards.
- Fabricate components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces, setting up and measuring assemblies and selecting appropriate method.
- Must know and understand weld symbols.
- Weld cover and perform various tank modifications.
- Reviews manufacturing instructions, diagrams, charts, and repair order to determine work scope.
- Regularly attends work as scheduled.
- Follows safety rules and/or guidelines while performing daily work.
- Completes process control records.
- Safely operate various overhead cranes, forklifts, coil lifter, enerpac hydraulic system, and various handheld power tools.
- Ability to interpret drawings, manufacturing plans, and possess strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality.
- Maintain safe work environment by following procedures.
- Must be able to read tape measure and mics.
- Able to work independently of others and have their own tools.
- Follow direction; maintain focus and a positive attitude at all times.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Two plus years related experience and/or training.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand.

- crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance
- and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds,

- pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth
- perception and ability to adjust focus.
