HOURS: Generally, starts as early as 9:30 PM until finish. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.

JOB SUMMARY/JOB DUTIES:
Working role that coordinates and assists the Manager in the Food Safety Quality (FSQ) department. Performs and completes tasks associated with equipment cleaners. Manages the plant documentation systems, which include the control of quality system documents and serves as a SQF practitioner (policies, procedures, work instructions, recordkeeping). Supports the plant internal audit, inspection, environmental microbiological testing, and corrective/preventive action programs. Investigates plant nonconforming product incidents and consumer complaints, conducts root cause analysis and leads corrective action(s) efforts. The Lead supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in sanitation of equipment and the facility by performing the following essential duties.

Principle accountabilities
1. 75% Manage and lead FSQ department responsibilities
2. 25% Provide support for EMP and Sensory programs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Supervises equipment cleaners and part-time weekend personnel required to meet daily and/or preventative sanitation schedules and emergency needs.
•Assesses/coaches employee performance and expectations. Conducts and processes probationary/regular employee performance reviews on a timely basis. This includes working with Supervisor in properly communicating information on policies and procedures to work group.
•Responsible for learning equipment cleaner's task and completing these tasks when scheduled or required. This includes disassembling and reassembling equipment.
•Responsible for working with the team daily on cleaning task or assignments
•Analyzes sanitation problems/deficiencies relative to the plant and/or equipment. Initiates proper course of corrective action to improve sanitation methods and reduce future occurrences.
•Assists in maintaining records for master sanitation cleaning schedule and associated procedures/task instructions in both manual and computerized systems.
•Assembles and presents facts concerning disciplinary action in written form to his/her supervisor, who will assist in determination of approved disciplinary action. May assist in issuing approved disciplinary action.
•Communicates thoroughly with the supervisor regarding personnel problems, unfinished task workload, special requests or requirements, crewing shortages, schedule changes or any situation requiring attention.
•Responsible for maintaining good, open communication channels with all departments. Works together with other departments to assist in achievement of primary plant goals and objectives.
•Analyzes equipment performance and enter/creates work orders into the SAP system accurately describing problems of the equipment and how it relates to inferior production of product.
•Review and respond to schedules, emails, documents, performance revies and other task in a timely manner.
•Ensures all SQF, HACCP, CTS, Safety, and GMP standards are adhered to.
•Adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet production schedules.
•Manage review, storage and archiving of quality records.
•Lead plant internal quality audit and weekly GMP inspection program.
•Supports the environmental testing and program. Performing testing, reporting results, analyzing for trends and coordinating corrective actions. Includes finished product, ingredients, process, and shelf-life.
•Investigate in plant quality incident and consumer complaints, including pest management.
•In absence of the FSQ PM Leaser assume responsibility of the sanitation department.
•Responsible for learning and completing licensing in the pie program including training new employees

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly leads employees in the Food Safety Quality department, while covering for the Supervisor and equipment cleaner's vacation and NS days including the other shifts. Carries out Leader responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school and/or two years related experience and/or training; Experience in food microbiology preferred.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: SQF or AIB certificate preferred, Six Sigma training preferred, pest control knowledge preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee may be exposed to chemicals fumes, airborne particles, hot/cold temperature extremes, high industrial noise levels, forklift traffic and wet environments.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to comply with all safety regulations, support plant safety initiatives, proper operating procedures and utilize prescribed safety equipment such as safety eyeglasses, safety shields, gloves, earplugs, respirators, and approved footwear.

Ability to deal with a changing work environment and high-pressure situations. Must be able to work in a team environment.

This position may require overtime as deemed necessary to support operations activities.

Position is contingent on passing Powered Industrial Equipment physical and successful completion of licensing requirements.

Employees' approved vacation subject to change when bidding to a new area.

There will be a 90-day evaluation period to ensure satisfactory performance.

Must stay on the job one year.
