7PM-5:30AM - MON - THUR (OT AS NEEDED)
TRAINING - 2 TO 3 WEEKS (POSSIBLY LONGER) ON DAYS SCHEDULE
Inspects, assembles, and tests various transmission components, subassemblies, and complete assemblies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently perform tasks requiring forceful repetitive grasping. The employee is occasionally required to walk; bend; stoop; kneel or crouch and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. Must be able to read and understand English.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Most of the duties are performed in an air-conditioned area. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Air gun, assorted hand tools, manual or air powered torque wrench, various measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
MATERIALS
Transmission parts, transmission fluids, assembly lubes, sealing/locking compounds, solvent and aqueous based cleaning products, and solvent and aqueous based paint products.

Inspects, assembles, and tests various transmission components, subassemblies, and complete assemblies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspects and qualifies transmission parts for use using visual and dimensional criteria.
- Operates various measuring instruments and test equipment for determining tolerances or specific placement of transmission parts or subassemblies.
- Identifies parts by model type and part number.
- Assembles by positioning various subassemblies or component parts into transmission using manual, semi-automated, and/or fully automated methods.
- Operates air tools, assorted hand tools, semi-automated, and fully automated equipment.
- Records various data in process via manual and electronic methods.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Clean and perform operator prescribed maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Clean and maintain orderly work area.
- Responsible for adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the QS 9000 and ISO 14001 systems.
