The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient and safe handling, shipping, and receiving of materials. This role will lead a team of warehouse staff, including forklift operators, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth operations in alignment with company policies and safety regulations.

- Daily Operations Management:
Lead and supervise warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, picking/packing, and breakdown line operations. Ensure all tasks are completed according to daily schedules. - Material Handling:
Oversee the loading and unloading of products, ensuring proper handling and organization of materials on a daily basis. - Inventory Control:
Assist with cycle counts and inventory management to ensure accurate stock levels. Work with the team to resolve discrepancies. - Forklift Supervision:
Supervise and train forklift operators in loading trucks efficiently and safely while meeting customer expectations for product handling. - Equipment Maintenance:
Coordinate repairs for trucks, trailers, forklifts, dock plates, and dock doors, and ensure timely completion of maintenance work orders. - Order Coordination:
Collaborate with Shipping & Receiving Coordinators and Order Processors to ensure timely and accurate shipment and delivery of customer orders. - Communication & Reporting:
Maintain clear communication with upper management to report any issues that may impact department performance. Prepare daily/weekly updates for department progress and production goals. - Safety & Compliance:
Lead daily/weekly safety and production meetings. Ensure all warehouse activities are performed in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety standards. - Team Leadership:
Foster high morale within the department by demonstrating fairness, consistency, and strong leadership. Resolve any conflicts and address employee concerns in a confidential and supportive manner. - Continuous Improvement:
Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize productivity, cost efficiency, and product quality. - Additional Duties:
Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support warehouse operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise all employees within the warehouse department, including forklift operators, shipping/receiving staff, and other warehouse personnel.
- Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as managing performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Handle conflict resolution, team-building, and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Set an example of exemplary behavior, attitude, and performance for the team.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Forklift Operator and/or Truck Driver.
- Minimum of two years of prior supervisory experience in a warehouse or production environment.
- At least one year of experience in shipping and receiving operations.
- Experience in the corrugated box industry or similar manufacturing environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to speak effectively with employees, customers, and management. - Mathematical Skills:
Proficiency in basic arithmetic and the ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures such as percentages, measurements, and rates. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to solve problems in standardized situations with concrete variables. - Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of warehouse equipment design and capabilities. Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures. Familiarity with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and waste minimization practices. - Certifications:
Must possess or be willing to obtain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
- The warehouse environment is typically loud and includes exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Employees may encounter wet, humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
- Employees are occasionally exposed to high places and high noise levels.
