Job Description

Janitors will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will have primary responsibility for performing a variety of janitorial and custodial tasks to maintain a clean and safe building.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms and break rooms using established practices and procedures.

• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty trash and recycle containers; refill restroom dispensers.

• Use and maintain necessary power equipment and hand tools, such as buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, carpets, furniture, etc.

• Clean, dust and wipe machines using established practices and procedures.

• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.

• Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.

• Always maintain a high level of safety practices.

• Train others on the operation as requested.

Education and/or Experience

• Previous janitorial experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to adapt to workload

• Good time management skills

• Basic knowledge of cleaning products

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Environmental & Physical Demands

• Manufacturing environment. Requires walking, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

• My require exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors.

• Occasional exposure to loud noise.

• May require lifting up to 30 lbs.
