Role: Green Bean Operator - 3rd Shift

Green Bean Operator Role: Responsible for operations in the Green Bean area and supervising Unloaders.

What you get to do:

  • Oversee and coordinate duties of temporary personnel in the Green Bean Receiving Area.
  • Evaluate conditions of load for cleanliness, evidence of infestation or rodent activity, stained/damaged bags and off-odors. Recommend acceptance or rejection of delivery based on specified criteria to the Commodities Specialist.
  • Visually inspect green beans for appearance and number of defects.
  • Perform pre-unloading cross-sectional sampling (1 composite of 3 bags from F, 3 from M, 3 from B, and 6 samples Colombians F, M, and B).
  • Sign in trailers and notify lead.
  • Immediately Roast individual samples in preparation for tasting and notify tasters when ready for sampling.
  • Run percent to moisture and other necessary tests on green beans.
  • Perform unloading sampling. A handful from every 4th bag is composited into an F composite, M composite and B composite.
  • Notify Control Room when unloading is complete.
  • Coordinate movement and storage of trailers/containers in shipping yard. Communicate with drivers when they can leave the Receiving Area.
  • Enter data into the Probat Data Management System.
  • Train all Green Bean Temporary personnel on procedures and duties.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Green Bean data in the DMS and BPCS/AS400.
  • Communicate with Production Planner and Lead on issues and priority of receipts.
  • Responsible for completing and maintaining necessary paperwork and work orders.
  • Cross-train with Quality Assurance Operators, Control Room Support Operators, Sample Operator and relevant personnel during green bean area downtime.
  • Maintain and oversee accuracy of HACCP log.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.

What you bring to the role:

  • Forklift Certified.
  • Minimum experience as an unloader
  • Solid mathematical ability in addition and subtraction
  • Willing to work flexible hours.
  • Must understand and be able to fill in all the required paperwork.
  • Recognize reject-able green bean sacks and trailer conditions.
  • Innovative thinker with issue-framing and analytical problem solving skills.
  • Ability to deploy resources effectively.
  • Ability to follow and provide written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Learn cupping process.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Other important information: 3rd Shift - Monday - Friday 10:00 PM and 6:30 AM
