This position is based in our Deerfield, IL office SUMMARY: The Regional Procurement Director, North America is responsible for leading our regional sourcing strategy, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality procurement of indirect goods and services. In this role, you will drive initiatives that support our business objectives, working closely with both global and local teams to align on procurement processes, strategy execution, and stakeholder engagement. This role will support the SVP, Corporate Procurement in setting and executing the overall strategic direction for Corporate Procurement,and act as a trusted senior business partner to the US leadership team to ensure alignment of local and global procurement ambitions. Furthermore, you will be responsible for communicating and continuously governing compliance to overall Procurement principles and policies across U.S. This is a key leadership role that leads contract negotiations, optimizing supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiency initiatives. The role is responsible for positioning the regional procurement function as a strategic partner that consistently delivers value to the organization, in close collaboration with the Global Corporate Procurement organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversees and directs the work of the in-direct procurement spend categories for Lu-US in close collaboration with the Global Corporate Procurement organization. Create value and drive continuous improvement by applying category management and other leading strategic Sourcing practices. Indirect management includes project and resource prioritization across Corporate Procurement as well as supporting U.S. and in-direct spend category interests. Co-creates, executes and communicates Corporate Procurement strategy acting as a strategic senior business partner to US LT and Lu-US interests specifically. Accountable for sourcing activities for indirect categories meet organizational goals and deliver services and goods that are cost-effective, a fit for purpose quality level, in alignment with Lundbeck sustainability targets and are executed in due time. Full member of the global procurement management team and an active player in setting the direction for the function in general. Sponsors strategic S2P optimization across Lu-US supported by Procurement Excellence. Ensures that relevant S2P process efficiencies and continuous improvements are adapted and implemented regionally. In collaboration with SVP Corporate Procurement, establishes annual objectives and targets for the U.S. team on an aggregated and individual level; and ensures annual objectives and targets are aligned with Corporate Procurement strategy, and in-direct category strategies and Lu-US overall priorities. Develops relevant metrics enabling performance measurement and monitoring compliance on set targets. Collaborate closely with regional stakeholder and global Category Managers, as well as other relevant stakeholders in Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, and Quality, to ensure procurement activities are aligned with business needs. Performs ad hoc strategic sourcing activities globally Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, manage supplier relationships, and measure supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS: Accredited bachelor’s degree. 10 years of relevant experience in sourcing/procurement of which at least 5 years has been within a global organization. Experience with sourcing / procurement on indirect categories. 3+ years of pharma, biotech, medical device or healthcare industry experience. Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and executing category management strategies that have deliver results in a cross-functional, global environment. Strong understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Effectively communicate to leadership at all levels of the organization regarding strategy, progress, and outcomes Documented experience leading Procurement teams in a transformational environment preferably from consultancy experience (including high degree of project and change management skills) Strong business acumen with demonstrated success developing and executing on a multi-year strategy.
