JOB TITLE: Industry X - Engineering Consulting Manager

THE PRACTICE:

This role will align with our Manufacturing & Operations - Product Engineering & Services practice and fall under the Engineering Consulting capability. Product Engineering & Servicing professionals link engineering and product development spend to business value, unlocking new sources of growth for our clients.

THE WORK:

You will support our clients across a broad range of industries to address their issues related to:

  1. Engineering transformations optimizing organization structure, new product development process, R&D spend, and product lifecycle management systems.
  2. Zero base product cost management through value analysis, value engineering, and Design to Value assessments.
  3. Product Strategies including Product as a Service, Platform Ecosystems, and Sustainable Products.
  4. Innovation Management and Product Portfolio Optimization balancing voice of customer and cost to serve.
  5. Digitizing Engineering function with new technologies like Digital Thread/Twin, Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, etc.

You will spot, isolate, and solve engineering problems using your skills in:

  1. Advanced analytics – Return on R&D costs, Product Cost, Business case models.
  2. Should-cost modelling – Direct/COGS (incl. metals, plastics, electronics, etc.).
  3. Operating model architecture – people, process technology.

You will also, throughout your work, have opportunities to:

  1. Lead small to medium sized teams (2-5), with diverse backgrounds skills and knowledge.
  2. Effectively manage and coach others, collaborating with internal and external parties.
  3. Support client sales origination and thought leadership development.
  4. Challenge legacy ways of working using constructive techniques that fuel client growth.
  5. Drive a positive impact in the communities where we work and live.

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here’s What You Need:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 6 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have minimum 12 years of work experience).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience working on engineering improvement initiatives.
  3. Minimum 5 years of Top Tier Consulting experience.
  4. Minimum of 3 years of experience within CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) Industry.

Bonus Points if you have:

  1. Experience related to new technology (Digital Thread/Twin, Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, etc.).
  2. Ability to support both client sales origination and project delivery.
  3. Ability to effectively manage and coach others.
  4. A collaborative mindset, are a team player.
  5. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  6. Excellent leadership, management, and relationship building skills.
  7. Master's degree in engineering, business or related field.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
