Retail Store Clerk

About the Role: Personnel Services Unlimited in now hiring a Retail Clerk to work for a local hardware store in Shelby, NC.
This temporary to permanent role offers full-time hours and pays $16.00/HR with health insurance benefits, weekly pay, holiday pay, and referral bonuses.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring that all customer needs are met.
  • Assist customers with DIY projects by sharing product knowledge, features, and benefits.
  • Build lasting relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Operate the point of sale (POS) system, process payments, and handle credit authorizations.
  • Help maintain organized and well-stocked shelves and clean and orderly stock rooms.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet store goals and create a positive work environment.
Job Skills and Requirements:
  • Previous sales and retail experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about hardware supplies, tools, and handyman-related products.
  • Friendly, with a strong customer service focus and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and manage cash transactions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 25 lbs.
