Business Analyst - Financial Planning & Data

We're seeking a highly analytical Business Analyst to join our Finance team, providing key insights and supporting strategic decision-making through data analysis and reporting. In this role, you'll work directly with our experienced CFO, offering you hands-on training and growth in a high-impact, high-visibility environment. Position Summary:

As a Business Analyst, you will drive the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, with a focus on developing Power BI dashboards and data models. Your work will provide actionable insights across departments and help shape the financial strategy of Urbanex. This role requires expertise in data visualization, financial modeling, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to support data-driven business decisions.
  • Interpret data on financial performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for operational improvement.
  • Collaborate with team leads to gather and analyze budget data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Support scenario analysis and present insights to executive leadership.

Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts, providing analysis and data accuracy.
  • Develop financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and cash flows based on market trends and historical data.
  • Perform variance analysis to assess actual results against forecasts, providing insights on opportunities for improvement.
  • Optimize data workflows and financial reporting through Power BI.

Power BI Development & Data Management

  • Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize KPIs and other key business metrics.
  • Engage stakeholders to understand reporting needs and create customized, real-time reports to support operational goals.
  • Ensure data integrity and troubleshoot issues within Power BI, supporting reliable and accurate reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, FP&A, or a related analytical role.
  • Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the residential home services industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online reporting.
