Responsibilities

Your Role:

As Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator / Loader you will be responsible for operating excavators and loaders to handle waste materials efficiently and safely. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
  • Operate excavators and loaders to move, load, and transport waste materials at various sites
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Follow site plans and instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any issues encountered
  • Assist in site clean-up and organization as needed
Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in heavy equipment operation preferred
  • Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator, preferably in the waste management or construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of excavator and loader operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
