Ace/ Avant is seeking experience Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
The ideal candidate requires five years of job-related experience or a combination of experience and training with servicing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment.
Essential Functions
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to perform a variety of skilled duties, which may involve inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on heavy construction equipment
- Clean work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment
- Meet all company and equipment related safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager
- Read and interpret specifications and manuals
- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools, equipment
- Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators
- Must exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety
- Repair of all types of mechanical and hydraulic- and diesel-powered equipment.
- Installs and/or replaces new or reconditioned repair parts.
- Tests equipment for proper operation.
- Operate and test vehicles and mechanical equipment
- Keep daily logs and equipment repair forms.
- Willing and able to work outside, in all types of environments and weather conditions to make necessary repairs.
Required Skills
- Must have a driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Proficient problem solver and conflict resolver
- Must pass pre-employment physical screening and must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of following directions and effectively working in a team environment.
- Good computer skills are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and independently
- Good, safe work habits
- Good working knowledge of equipment operations and strong mechanical skills
- Able to perform repairs for all major equipment systems
- Demonstrated team player and willingness to assist others when required
- Travel to job sites to make repairs to heavy equipment as necessary
- Ability to repair construction equipment: assembly, adjustments, maintenance, and possible welding on all types of construction equipment such as internal combustion engines, air compressors, heavy earth moving equipment, and rock crushers.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
