We’re looking for a passionate individual to join our Connectivity RF Hardware team. We support WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, GPS, and emerging technologies. As a RF Hardware Design Engineer at Apple, you will contribute to the architecture and product level design integration of next generation wireless radio solutions in all product categories including iPhone, iPad, Home, Watch, AirPods, and more.

Description

Our RF Hardware Design Engineer is an integral member of the Hardware Engineering team designing future wireless products. They will work on a small design team focused on the integration of multiple wireless technologies into a new Apple product. For a full product cycle, our experienced DRI (directly responsible individual) is expected to own their technology from concept through product introduction. This includes front-end architecture, and component specification. Build and design RF line-up spreadsheets and modeling. Perform characterization, design optimization, and failure analysis. They will work proactively with other cross-functional engineering groups such as antenna design, product design, production test, regulatory, reliability, and software engineering. The role will require international travel to support product development as needed (15%).

Minimum Qualifications

  1. B.S. and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  2. Good understanding of RF Fundamentals, Radio architectures, RF component and circuit integration into consumer products
  3. Working experience with RF measurement equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers and Network Analyzers
  4. Must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree is preferred
  2. Fluent in one or more connectivity wireless system like WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB or NFC
  3. Familiarity with one or more simulation and design tools such as ADS, HFSS or MATLAB
  4. Experience with circuit schematic capture/layout
  5. Experience in writing basic software routines and test scripts

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
