Summary

Join an ambitious, experienced team of silicon and distributed systems experts as a hardware board and system design engineer. You have the opportunity to build a groundbreaking new category of product that revolutionizes the performance and scalability of next-gen distributed computing systems and to help solve key infrastructure challenges facing our customers.

We are looking for talented, motivated candidates with experience building groundbreaking, novel computing and networking systems for large-scale distributed computing environments, and who are looking to grow in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Default location is Mountain View, CA, but we are equally open to remote candidates.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Work with our ODM/CM partners to design our board/system from concept to system build to overall system bringup. Develop platforms that can be leveraged across functional testing, software development, and production qualification and characterization.
  2. Work on all aspects of system design including SOC schematic symbol, schematic capture, multiple rail SOC VRM design, and socket design for a novel, innovative cloud infrastructure device.
  3. Support the reference system hardware for both internal and external customers. The support activity will include maintaining CPLD/FPGA images, optimizing multiphase VRM settings, and supporting SOC PVT testing.
  4. Support early customer adoption by developing critical technical collateral such as datasheets, providing reference schematics, reviewing schematics and PCB board files for customers.

Key Qualifications

  1. Minimum 10 years experience with board design and system validation.
  2. Design and bring up experience with data center products such as servers, storage devices, and/or networking products.
  3. Fluent with Cadence EDA tools for symbol creation, schematic capture, and PCB board file review.
  4. Experience with CPLD/FPGA design, VRM design, management interfaces, BMC in data center products.
  5. Familiar with lab equipment such as real-time scope.
  6. Familiar with mechanical design and thermal design requirements in data center products.
  7. Strong hands-on experience debugging and solving issues in a fast-paced and small team environment.
  8. Good team player, able to work cross-functionally with engineers in software, SIPI, thermal, and mechanical fields.
  9. Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  10. Strong scripting skills to increase bring up and test productivity.
  11. Experience working with ODMs and CMs.
