Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Director to lead the human resources function in a medical primary health care clinic. The HR Director will play a pivotal role in shaping our organizational culture, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and driving strategies that attract, develop, and retain top talent. This position requires a leader who is well-versed in HR best practices and passionate about fostering a positive, productive, and compliant workplace in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities - Leadership and Strategy
- Establishes, directs, and oversees staffing activities and procedures necessary to recruit and hire qualified applicants and retain an effective workforce.
- Directs and oversees employee transfers and the employment termination process.
- Provides direction and guidance to management for disciplinary actions and employees grievances.
- Manage staffing activities, including recruitment, hiring, transfers, and terminations.
- Advise management on disciplinary actions, employee grievances, and performance issues.
- Develop and enforce policies for safety, compliance with labor laws, and OSHA standards.
- Administer compensation, benefits, and employee leave programs (FMLA, disability, Workers' Comp).
- Enhance employee performance through training, recognition programs, and organizational development.
- Maintain compliance with HR regulations and ensure confidentiality of personnel records.
- Provide training on HR laws, regulations, and policies to managers and staff.
- Oversee HR budget, action plans, and strategic goals; report regularly to the Board.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Talent Acquisition and Management
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes to attract top talent in clinical and administrative roles.
- Develop career paths and succession plans to support employee growth and retention.
- Manage performance appraisal systems and provide coaching for managers and staff.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including healthcare-specific regulations such as OSHA and HIPAA.
- Lead audits and maintain up-to-date records for certifications, licenses, and training.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues professionally and discreetly.
Compensation and Benefits
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring competitive and equitable offerings.
- Evaluate and implement programs for employee well-being and work-life balance.
- Conduct regular market analyses to maintain competitive compensation structures.
Training and Development
- Design and deliver training programs on topics such as compliance, leadership, and clinic operations.
- Foster professional development opportunities for all levels of staff.
HR Operations
- Develop and manage HR budgets, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain HR systems and tools, ensuring data integrity and efficient reporting.
- Serve as a key contact for all HR-related matters and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Experience: At least 710 years of HR experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role. Experience in healthcare settings strongly preferred.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of employment laws, healthcare industry regulations, and HR technology systems.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
