DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accounting Manager position is responsible for collecting financial data and preparing reports necessary to analyze the bank's performance. Responsibilities include a full range of accounting duties, from reporting and SOX key control monitoring and documentation to accounting operations tasks such as general ledger entries, transaction review, settlement and documentation, and financial analysis

The incumbent will:

  • Compile and review required periodic financial reports to be filed with the SEC in accordance with rules S-K and S-X, working with Controller and Senior Accountant. This is a key function within the Bank's ICFR.
  • Research and interpret existing and new FASB and regulatory accounting guidance and assist in adoption techniques and compliance.
  • Post general ledger entries from supporting documents - inventory and monitor general ledger account and internal checking account reconcilements in keeping with Bank's policy and procedures. This is a key function within the Bank's ICFR.
  • Perform various management financial reports for corporate and market bank executives and analyze the information from such reports in an effort to support management decision making.
  • Assist with income tax compliance, tax-related SOX controls/reviews. Work closely with Company's income tax consultants.
  • Assist Controller, Assistant Controller and Senior Accountant in daily accounting operations functions as needed.
  • Back up daily/weekly general ledger reconciliation function when other accounting staff are out of office.
  • Responsible for being familiar with all compliance regulations and policies that are applicable to this position and follow and ensure compliance with these regulations and policies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Two (2) years of accounting or financial analysis experience preferred
  • Experience in financial industry; accounting/administration a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with a general understanding of database management
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills as demonstrated in previous position gathering data from original sources and preparing comprehensive reports with supporting documentation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The physical requirements and environmental conditions of this position consist primarily of:
  • Sustained standing and sitting
  • Frequent use of PC, including typing or sustained attention to monitor
  • Occasional lifting of basic office files or equipment up to 20 lbs
  • Normal office environment with comfortable internal temperatures and low level noise
