Job Description
Our Client, an elite law firm with offices nationwide, seeks a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing high-level accounting activities, including overseeing financial reporting, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The successful candidate will provide insightful analysis to support financial decision-making and ensure accuracy and integrity in all financial operations.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
•Perform routine GL account reconciliations as part of monthly closing procedures
•Reconcile and process monthly credit card statements and payments
•Process accounts payable invoices for client and firm expenses
•Respond to vendor and staff inquiries concerning invoices
•Manage 1099 reporting and processing including annual e-filing
•Assist in preparing client settlement distributions
•Respond to tax notices
•Assist in preparation of schedules to support financial audits
•Assist with monthly bank reconcilements
•Assist with year-end processes
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience Include:
•A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
•At least 5 of years of relevant accounting experience maintaining books, preferably in a law firm
•Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
•Aderant is highly preferred.
•Must have a strong work ethic, be well-organized and a self-starter
•Strong problem-solving skills, documentation skills, data analysis, research and resolution skills
•Ability to work independently and within teams in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on
accuracy and timeliness
•Ability to manage and make progress on multiple projects simultaneously
•Capable of maintaining strict confidentiality dealing with financial data
