Under the direction of the Director of Transportation and Logistics, the incumbent manages Transportation, logistics and account services. Responsible for strategic planning and establishing and maintaining an SOP based on goals and objectives.

Candidates must reside in or around Atlanta to be considered for this role.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Manage Account Services and Transportation Teams

Order execution:

  • Maintain the integrity of the data as it pertains to Order receipts.
  • Monitor daily activities in order receipts and perform daily summary.
  • Lead the open orders meeting
  • Analyze shipment data and plan activities to support execution.

Transportation

  • Create and monitor Transportation budget with Director of Transportation
  • Maintain data integrity of the TMS through Tariff updates.
  • Develop initiatives and strategies for OB and IB freight.
  • Perform weekly analysis of freight spend by categories.
  • Develop strategies and maintain Ocean Freight routing guide
  • Conduct and execute annual TL, LTL, and Ocean Freight RFQ

3PL Shipping

  • Plans and monitors daily shipping and receiving DC activities. Examples: FEFO compliance, Manages On Hold Items, Inventory outs
  • Manage daily communications with the 3rd party logistics(3PL) providers.
  • Manage daily OB and IB activities from all shipping and receiving sites and coordinate and prioritize shipments.
  • Develop and monitor shipping procedures as it pertains to routing guide for all customers.
  • 3PL Expense monitoring and invoice approvals.
  • Troubleshoot shipping delays and issues.

Inventory

  • FG Allocations: Monitor inbound and production transactions. Allocate FG inventory to open orders. Create transfer activities based on allocations. Identify and report inventory anomalies and coordinate with internal stakeholders of the inventory status and find disposition.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot systematic activities and reconcile findings with actual inventory movements. Initiate and maintain Daily, Weekly, Monthly Inventory reconciliations with the 3PL providers.
  • Correspond with the production department on inventory needs. And if necessary, coordinate any delays and short ship activities with the sales team
  • Monthly inventory reconciliation with the 3PL and perform twice a year physical inventory

Invoice processing

  • Process Freight Invoices in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
  • Process 3PL Shipping invoices in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
  • Perform and facilitate invoice audits

Strategies for continues improvement

  • Identify Continuous improvement opportunities in Order management and Transportation.
  • Initiate, develop and implement strategies based on opportunities.

Update monthly account services and Transportation KPI.

  • Complete monthly summary of transportation, 3PL shipping and order processing.
  • Identify aging inventory and seek disposition.
  • Conduct monthly cadence call with 3PL warehouse service providers.

3PL Freight and Warehouse

  • Oversee freight provider procurement activities and qualification process.
  • OB Network studies to minimize expense and transit days.
  • Establish and monitor OS&D process to minimize AR deductions

Education/Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience in managing teams
  • 5+ years of experience in managing transportation providers
  • 5+ years of experience in negotiating domestic and international freight
  • 10+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Preferred:

  • MBA degree in Business
  • Managing 3PL shipping operations
  • Managing allocations of inventory
  • Managing distribution of goods
  • Managing account services
  • WMS experience
  • TMS Mercury gate experience
  • ERP Business Central experience
