**POSITION IS BASED OUT OF OUR LOUISVILLE, KY BRANCH BUT WILL BE SERVICING CUSTOMERS FROM LOUISVILLE, KY TO CINCINNATI, OH!**

Are you ready to join a dynamic team and play a crucial role in shaping the future of material handling? We are actively seeking dynamic a Dock & Door Technician to join our rapidly growing team based out of our Louisville, KY location. Dock & Door Technicians are responsible for repairing, maintaining, and facilitating the installation and service of loading dock equipment and industrial doors at customers’ facilities. Field service technicians act as a technical resource for our company and customer. This position works independently in small teams in a field service environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Complete all service jobs that are assigned to you.
  • Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on dock and doors.
  • Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural and electrical troubleshooting to determine cause for equipment malfunction.
  • Update and maintain customer bearings and mechanical gearbox systems
  • Consult with customer regarding repair and safety related issues, and discuss recommendations to improve their material handling needs.
  • Attend service training classes offered to maintain knowledge on new products, or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (time cards, maintenance reports with customers’ signature). Paperwork must be completed at job site before leaving for the next job, or going home.
  • Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
  • Maintain an organized service van.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
  • Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Must have very good skills in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair.
  • Must successfully complete any training courses required.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Must be a good communicator – written and verbal.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
  • Must own tools necessary to perform repairs, per our recommended tool list.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must be certified to operate material handling equipment.
