Job Description
The Assistant Dockmaster is one of the first people our guests will interact with when arriving by vessel. The Assistant Dockmaster is under the general supervision of the Dockmaster and assists with the daily operations of the marina and serves as the lead on the docks. He/She assists with security and maintenance of the marina, oversees, and trains the dockhands. The Assistant Dockmaster ensures safety and cleanliness of the marina, fuel operations and provides the highest level of guest services. Along with the Dockmaster, they secure the marina and the vessels in the event of inclement weather.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Sets and provides the highest level of customer/guest services and expedites any and all requests from vessels including transport of patrons and baggage to and from dockside, delivery of provisions and packages.
2. Assists the Dockmaster with scheduling and managing of all dockhands in marina related duties such as securing boats, fuel, black water pump outs, connecting and monitoring utility services, and waste disposal. Leads the dockhands by example.
3. Trains and supervises fueling operations at the marina, ensuring safe re-fueling procedures.
4. Carries out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina related operations; insures the recognized standards are maintained and that quality, and delivery commitments are met
5. Routinely operates, motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment
6. Under the supervision of the Dockmaster, performs daily inspection of the docks, documents general repair and maintenance issues with the docks in order to maintain safety and cleanliness standards. Provides report to the Dockmaster.

8. Demonstrates safe work habits at all times, including the proper care and use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, hazardous materials, and observes all established health and safety regulations.
9. Maintains a friendly, professional working relationship with co-workers, members, guests and vendors.
10. Provides general security and supports marina and facility service teams in their security related efforts; reports disturbances in the dock area as needed.
11. Provides safe disposal of all waste material.
12. All other duties as assigned by management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High School degree or equivalent
2. A broad knowledge of marina operations, boat lifting, boat handling and towing, and equipment maintenance
3. Proven skills or the willingness to be trained in administration, seamanship, communication, equipment maintenance and marina operations
4. A positive attitude, the ability to communicate proficiently, and ability to relate to customers in a luxury environment
5. Requires excellent interpersonal skills
6. Must have high standards, high level of accuracy, and a keen eye for detail
7. Must be an excellent swimmer
8. Must have a boater’s license
9. Ability work independently to achieve goals and targets;
10. Ability to organize and prioritize work;
11. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals;
12. Must thrive in a fast paced environment;
13. Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season;
