How You'll Make an Impact:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and refining process plans to ensure the successful production of precision aerospace components. This role requires a deep understanding of machining processes, work instructions, GD&T, and ERP/MRP systems. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with production teams, quality engineers, and suppliers to define and improve processes, create routers, and ensure that all parts meet customer specifications. This position focuses primarily on new parts with minimal rework and involves working closely with the programming, estimating, and tooling teams.

What You'll be Doing as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager:
  • Working a Full-time, exempt position, onsite at our Fife, Washington location.
  • Develop detailed work instructions, including in-process drawings and models to support production.
  • Create and modify process routers, bills of materials (BOMs), and work orders within ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Global Shop).
  • Interpret and implement customer drawings and specification requirements.
  • Collaborate with programmers, machinists, and estimators to define how parts will be manufactured.
  • Provide time estimates, methods, and cost data for quoting teams during customer proposal preparation.
  • Support production planning by identifying tooling requirements and validating first-run programs.
  • Work with modeling software (I.e. Catia, NX, SolidWorks, CAD) to develop build-to-print documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards for component and tooling design.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to optimize processes and workflows.
  • Provide regular updates on project milestones and timelines to stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, CNC machining, or a precision machine shop environment.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and understanding of machining processes for complex parts.
  • Experience with Catia, NX, SolidWorks, or similar modeling software.
  • Ability to create, modify, and manage ERP/MRP system documentation, including routers and work orders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept direction, adapt to change, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience with CNC machining of aerospace precision parts.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards and quality management systems.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems for aerospace manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to assist with Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA).

Work Environment:

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $85k - $100k commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
