About the Job
We are looking for a Welding/Fabrication Supervisor with a strong background in ASME codes and standards to oversee our welding and fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of ASME Code Section IX for procedure qualification, joining personnel qualification, and quality control procedures.
The Welding/Fabrication Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with ASME standards and maintaining the highest level of quality in our welding and fabrication processes.
- Oversee all welding and fabrication operations, ensuring full compliance with ASME Code Section IX for procedure and personnel qualification.
- Provide expert guidance and training to welders and fabricators to drive continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standards.
- Interpret and implement our Quality Control Manual, ensuring all welding and fabrication activities meet established specifications and procedures.
- Supervise the scope, complexity, and special nature of assigned projects, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation of welding procedures, qualifications, and inspection reports.
- Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) to verify weld quality and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to ensure project success.
- Promote a safe and productive work environment, enforcing all safety protocols and procedures.
- Responsible for establishing workstation assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees.
- Maintain shop measuring equipment calibration program ensuring all relative equipment is calibrated according to schedule.
- Maintain all shop programs. These programs include 5S, Lean, Cleaning and Safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welding/Fabrication Supervisor in an ASME-regulated environment.
- In-depth knowledge of ASME Code Section IX for welding procedure and personnel qualification.
- Strong understanding of NDT methods and their application to welds.
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Welding/Fabrication Supervisor (ASME Experience):

Experience with the following is a plus:
- TIG, MIG, and Orbital welding techniques.
- Experience in the Hydrogen industry is a plus.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS) experience.
