Responsibilities: • Record any changes to the patient’s health history and document the ongoings of each appointment • Remove plaque and apply fluoride or other sealants to prevent cavities and tooth decay • Use x-ray machines to take photos of the patients’ teeth so the dentist can clearly identify cavities or other oral health issues • Sterilize all dental equipment to make sure everything is properly cleaned • Explain good oral hygiene techniques to patients of all ages, such as thorough brushing and flossing twice daily • Help patients achieve optimal preventive care at home Qualifications: • Licensed to practice as a dental hygienist in the state • In-depth knowledge of dental safety regulations and HIPAA regulations • Able to stand up for long periods of time to administer dental exams and procedures • Associate’s degree and certification in dental hygiene program required, higher levels of education are highly valued • Current CPR certification • Local anesthesia certified preferred • Nitrous Oxide Administration certificate preferred Compensation: $64 - $67 hourly
