CENTER’S MISSION: Building a world where LGBT people thrive as healthy, equal, and complete members of society.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Center’s Development department is responsible for fundraising to support the Center’s many programs and services that are not financially supported by government grants. The department raises nearly $20 million through individual gifts, private foundation grants, and estate and legacy gifts, as well as several fundraising events including major events, such as the Center Gala.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Partnerships, and as part of the Corporate Relations team, the Corporate Relations Officer collaborates closely with Marketing & Communications staff and programmatic teams to identify potential partners, cultivate relationships, and secure long-term restricted and unrestricted financial support through event sponsorship, programmatic funding support, cause-marketing promotions, and workplace giving. This position supports the Development team’s overall annual revenue goals, as well as oversees in-kind contributions and corporate volunteer engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

30% Corporate Sponsorship Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of corporate interactions and contributions including cash, in-kind product and service donations, engagements, and deliverables.
  • Track and document all corporate sponsor contacts, communications, and actions in Salesforce.
  • Represent the Center and educate corporate entities about the Center at various in-person and virtual events, meetings, etc.
  • Effectively communicate opportunities, updates, success stories and impact, concerns, etc. to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Corporate Relations team with all day-to-day administrative needs regarding sponsorships including organizing, taking notes, drafting reports, sponsor prospecting and research, invoicing pledged contributions, executing mailings, and daily communications.

25% Event Planning and Engagement

  • Lead pre- and post- event communications, branding, activations, stewardship, content capturing, and volunteer engagement for Center events and program initiatives, including the Center Gala, Trans Pride L.A., Models of Pride, and other fundraising and community events in accordance with the organization's yearly Corporate Development plan.
  • Oversee the implementation of engagement strategies Employee Resource Groups including fostering collaboration and communications between corporate partners, marketing and communications, volunteer resources, program administrators, Facilities department, and all other parties involved to increase engagement and overall connection to the Center’s work.

20% Cause Marketing

  • Manage coordination and implementation of cause-marketing campaigns and digital storytelling efforts, including collaborating with the marketing and communications team, program administrators, and corporate partners to create compelling content and promotional materials.
  • Draft digital, social, and direct mail media campaigns related to corporate partnerships and collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure completion.

20% Corporate Reporting and Deliverables

  • Prepare regular reports on the status of corporate partnerships, engagement initiatives, partnership strategy, and partnership and marketing deliverables for the Director of Corporate Partnerships, Marketing & Communications team, and Senior Executive team.
  • Work with the Grant Strategist to prepare and submit grant applications and proposals and conduct follow-up reporting and all deliverables associated with the grant.
  • Identify and assess potential partnerships in alignment with the Center’s mission, ethics, and strategy.

5% Other Duties

  • Manage the procurement, delivery, distribution, and tracking of all in-kind contributions.
  • Participate in staff meetings, marketing meetings, planning meetings, and other meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ people. A passion for the Center’s work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people.
  • Minimum 4 years’ development, marketing, and/or brand partnership experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail. Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and Social Media Platforms.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment.
