Job Details: Are you an accounting professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers? We are on the hunt for an Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with a diverse team. You will be an integral part of our finance department, with responsibilities ranging from managing accounts payable and receivable, freight billing, to reconciling the general ledger. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and make a significant impact on our company's financial operations.
Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepare and process Bill of Lading, manage freight billing, and coordinate with transportation and logistics teams. Conduct regular account reconciliation tasks to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Perform 3-way match for invoices to ensure accurate billing and payment. Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly. Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation, utilizing tools such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues relating to financial transactions. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Prepare and present financial reports, highlighting any significant issues or trends.
Qualifications: A minimum of 1 years of experience in accounting or a related field. Proven experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, freight billing, and general ledger reconciliation. Familiarity with transportation and logistics industry is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
