Role Overview:
GTI Energy is seeking a Welding Lead for a new facility in Goodyear, AZ. The Welding Lead is responsible for performing and carrying out the day-to-day responsibilities of their team in the welding division. This position is to serve as the subject matter expert on the work being performed on the team and is the first point of contact for the employees on the work they are assigned for the day. The Lead will directly interface with leadership members as to the status of projects at the end of each day, and effectively communicate any needs identified by their team.
This position is based out of Goodyear, AZ and is in a climate controlled warehouse.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures.
- Interfaces with QA manager to ensure highest degree of final quality and develop new and better quality methods.
- Ensures approved manufacturing methodology is being followed.
- Develops and communicates goals and key initiatives to improve plant performance and success.
- Performs the physical work of the department
- Maintains knowledge of machine capacity and develops solutions for efficient utilization.
- Ensures all safety rules and regulations are followed; investigates accidents in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
- Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
- Directly supervise employees assigned to their department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating direct reports
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic competence in direct reports duties and tasks
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
