Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Establishes work schedules, selects types and amount of materials to be used and ensures proper charging of material cost against job order number. Determines manpower requirements, materials, and methods to be used in successfully completing the job. Provides on¿the-job training to insure employees are proficient in current job duties, responsibilities, and are aware of Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) policies and procedures. Performs on-site inspection of work during construction. Establishes and ensures compliance with preventive maintenance programs. Controls supplies, stock levels and budgets for supplies by means of monthly inventories. Follows procedures relating to energy conservation. Coordinates with Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Facilities and Maintenance Division on all upkeep of facilities. Utilizes the Property Management System (PMS) to access guest room information and status, retrieve occupancy data, and maintain out of order/out of inventory guest room requirements. Maintains control and records of time worked, job orders, and other reports as required. Prepares estimates and scope of work in areas of expertise. Meets with various vendors, contractors, and other entities both internal and external. Performs research as needed regarding construction, building codes, materials, pricing, safety, and technical issues. Assists in maintaining property inventory and accountability. Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews, signing timesheets, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol/substance abuse, and take appropriate action. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Skills and Knowledge: Experience that demonstrates a journeyman level knowledge in three of five specified trades; specifically Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry or Refrigeration/AC. Must have adequate working knowledge in the remaining two trades in order to supervise the work force and assist in solving problems. Must be able to recognize deficiencies in all of the trades supervised and apply plan specifications, blueprints, sketches, schematics and wiring diagrams. Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Must possess one year of experience in a supervisory position. Must possess or be able to obtain applicable government operator permits. Must possess and maintain a valid driver¿s license. Responsibility: Performs recurring routine repairs independently. Ensures that work is performed within the guidelines of Federal and Base Safety Codes. Meets OSHA regulations. Physical Effort: Position requires prolonged standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Working Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outside at various locations within the Lodging Division, to include the Inns of the Corps and Onslow Beach. Exposed to the elements of the trades supervised. Work may be performed after normal working hours (24 hour on call) as guest needs arise. MISSION ESSENTIAL STATUS: This position is designated ¿Mission Essential¿. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (nature or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
