The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) at the University of Pittsburgh is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and stakeholders, supporting the University's mission in education, research, and healthcare. In this role, you will serve as the integral part within PAE's Individual Giving, Health Sciences department, reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences Strategic Programs.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain a portfolio of major gift donors. Research, identify, cultivate, and solicit individual prospects for gifts to support the School of Medicine. Build and manage a portfolio of fundraising prospects. Conduct face-to-face visits to secure major gift donations. Serve as the primary contact for assigned units and departments within the School of Medicine. Independently develop and implement fundraising strategies for assigned areas. Advise Faculty and School leadership on fundraising and constituent engagement.

Job Summary
Oversees development of a program, plans, and activities to create and execute a comprehensive development plan achieving new and recurring contributions to a school, foundation, program, and/or group. Manages a portfolio of major gift donors and strategically builds fundraising prospects. Assists leadership in facilitating a comprehensive communications plan and with development strategies.
Essential Functions
Create and implement fundraising strategies by maintaining personal contact with prospects, involving the Dean, faculty, volunteers, and staff as required. Must be an outstanding communicator and manager of relationships. Ability to work and travel independently with an expectation of at least 10 trips per year to meet with University alumni and friends. Must be articulate and be able to present themselves professionally as well as be strategic, innovative, organized, and be able to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary.
May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
