Seeking an experienced production technician to join our team in Portland, TN on 2nd shift!

3pm-11pm

Full Benefits, Direct Hire

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operational fill in when production demand requires
  • Able to promote and drive continuous process improvements with machines, processes, procedures and through operational training of production team members.
  • Ability to repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and/or power tools and reassembling equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other needed maintenance actions for production improvement
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Perform equipment PM activity where and when required
  • Assist in the handling and management of the waste stream operation
  • All other duties as directed by Operations Manager, Production Supervisor or Fab Line/Floor Lead
  • Able to collect and analyze data to ensure efficiencies and key metrics are being monitored and driven for improvement.
  • Communicate and discuss potential improvements through the production team


Skills Required:

  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
  • Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
  • Communicating with others to convey information effectively. Providing information to managers, supervisors, and coworkers by telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Dependability, attention to detail, cooperation, self-control, integrity, initiative, analytical thinking, concern for others, stress tolerance, adaptability/flexibility
  • Ability to utilize computer skills to analyze data collected from equipment.


Education & Experience preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical or Trade School certification or degree
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • background in industrial maintenance repair and preventative measures
