Senior Data Analyst Houston, TX (Remote within Texas) 6 - 8 months Contract with possibility to extension Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Snowflake Data Analyst to lead a series of client projects. As a Senior Snowflake Data Analyst, you will lead the configuration of the Snowflake environment, design the definition and deliver implementation of best practices while working hands-on in extracting, transforming, and analyzing data for storage and use in Snowflake. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights that will shape business strategies and ensure data quality and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Extract data from various sources and load it into Snowflake. Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Transform raw data into meaningful and actionable insights. Provide expertise in IT operations and management processes Data Analysis and Reporting: Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Create and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate key findings to stakeholders. Develop ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed to support business initiatives. Data Quality Assurance: Collaborate with data engineers to establish data quality standards. Implement data validation processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues in a timely manner. Performance Optimization: Define and implement appropriate Snowflake security models. Monitor and optimize Snowflake database performance. Identify and implement best practices for query optimization. Work on database schema design improvements for efficient data storage. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements to define and implement appropriate Snowflake based solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data analysts in the team. Data Governance and Security: Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Implement and maintain data governance policies and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics). Proven experience as a Data Analyst with a strong focus on Snowflake. Expertise in SQL and proficiency in Snowflake-specific SQL extensions. Solid understanding of ETL processes and tools. Strong data modeling and database design skills. Proficiency in data visualization tools and approaches. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of data governance and security best practices is a plus.
