QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Master's degree from an accredited college or university. New Jersey Department of Education Principal Standard (Preferred) and/or Supervisor Standard license. Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in school or district level administration. Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards for curriculum, assessment and instruction. Ability to plan, organize and administer a District-level professional development program. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. As defined in N.J.A.C. 6A:9-9 Instructional certificates. BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES I. Management and Coaching of Instructional Staff Supports and directs the planning, development, organization, management, direction, and implementation of student service programs of the District which include alternative education, grading policy, intervention supports (I&RS/504), child welfare, discipline procedures, grant funded programs, McKinney-Vento (homeless unit), and school safety; assure compliance with laws, codes, and regulations related to student services. Supports and serves as a resource person to help students achieve and make successful personal, education, and occupational life plans. Initiates, facilitates, and supports community agencies and other resources to meet pupils' needs. Meets with parents to discuss implementation of programs and to resolve grievances. Assists in preparation of reports requested by central office administrators and local, state, and federal agencies. Maintains accurate records and prepares reports. Guides staff, parents, and the community in the interpretation of programs and compliance with federal, state, and district rules and regulations. Participates in activities that promote professional growth for staff. Assist in the evaluation of instructional and non-instructional staff at the discretion of the Director of Student Life and performs related work. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services. II. Organizational Leadership Establishes and executes organizational systems and district/departmental goals and initiatives Develops and monitors strategies for high level collaboration among faculty and staff. Communicates effectively and maintains a positive disposition in all circumstances to ensure an outcome that promotes student academic achievement, staff professional development, and District-wide success. Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Director or Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD, AND UNION AFFILIATION Salary: Compensation is competitive and based on administrative experience.
