Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Location: Port of Tacoma Area

Employer: SmartTalent

Pay: $18-$20 DOE

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am to 4:30pm


Job Overview:

SmartTalent is looking to fill a Customer Service Representative (CSR) role for one of our clients in the Port of Tacoma area. The CSR will handle incoming calls related to scheduling transportation and managing customer inquiries with professionalism and efficiency. This role is customer-focused, requiring exemplary communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service while meeting or exceeding Customer Service Center (CSC) production standards.
  • Manage calls systematically and professionally, routing calls internally as needed.
  • Actively listen to and assist callers, ensuring inquiries are addressed with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Enter customer and provider information into the appropriate system to initiate transportation services.
  • Follow up to ensure customer and provider needs are fully met.
  • Maintain compliance with department protocols, quality standards, and attendance policies.
  • Assist with scheduling trips, processing work orders, and handling related documentation.
  • Report operational issues to the supervisor for resolution.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Typing speed of 30 WPM or greater.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of recent customer service, sales, or call center experience in a warehouse or transportation environment preferred.
