Responsibilities The mission statement of the Enterprise Applications team (Business Applications) which reports to Enterprise Technology, is to improve business capabilities by delivering efficient technology solutions through implementing, supporting, and maintaining Enterprise Applications, as well as related systems. We ensure organizational alignment of the deliverables and service level. This position primarily supports the team’s mission through i) technical and functional knowledge, skills, & innovation and ii) effective project management of business critical and strategic internal company initiatives. Competencies and skills leveraged include business process acumen, technical and enterprise solutioning, data & process engineering, systems management, and administration. Specifically, the position will be the applications owner of the Energy Management Systems that include many applications but at the core is the ETRM (Allegro) and a Bid2Bill system. Other services or applications integrate with these core energy systems to support the technology needs of the Energy Management business team. Formally, the position reports to the Director of Business Applications. Informally, the role reports to key stakeholders for each assigned project and stakeholders to sustain the Energy applications. Key stakeholders for a project typically include sponsors and steering committee members comprising director to C-level business partners from across the organization. Within the scope of assigned projects and ad-hoc problems that surface, this role is responsible for daily work management decisions of supporting the Energy systems and ensuring a roadmap is socialized, maintained, and executed. The position must prioritize the time of internal business and technical resources alongside capital budgets to maximize ROI for process improvement initiatives. As a result, this position is indirectly responsible for significant human capital and financial resource commitment across all departments, and must weigh resource allocation against support sustainment, project timelines, objectives, and business needs or requirements. Key Accountabilities Manage the team providing day-to-day support of the Energy Management systems through the creation of health checks and monitoring that provides oversight to the performance of the systems and key controls. Ensure that the team’s SLAs for Incidents and Requests are all recorded in the Service Now application and monitored, investigated, and governed towards SLA and root cause. Create team processes that are standard and adhered to. Carrying out post-go-live activities such as monitoring metrics and reviewing implementation feedback for future improvements or partner with Process Design, Project management, and other teams to deliver such activities. Monitor and forecast the Energy team’s budget for applications, supplemental resources, and managed services by reviewing all POs set up correctly, approving invoices, and due diligence on actuals in preparation of forecast updates and yearly budget process. Create a roadmap for all the applications in the energy/business ecosystem and plan for upgrades, replacements, and enhancements while keeping in mind reducing technical debt, cost-effectiveness, and a holistic plan for the entire landscape. Partner for identified transformational projects with different internal stakeholders to deliver solutions for business stakeholders such as Business Process Design team, PMO, Data Architecture and Analytics, and Enterprise Architecture. Monitor and have oversight to projects outside the transformational projects and update dashboards and tracking while reporting to the Director updates prior to key meetings. Project Initiation and Planning: This includes discussion with business partners to identify issues, risks, opportunities, etc. Project Execution: Directly or indirectly project managing up to 5 projects at any time with the expectation of delivering an effective product following internal guidelines and meeting compliance requirements. This includes completion of hands-on work and providing work direction to each project team, which typically consists of 1 to 10 employees and/or contractors. Manage resource performance goals, development, and expectations for mid-year and end-year reviews through constant communications with team members. Ad-Hoc Systems Support and Business Improvement Portfolio Administration: Assisting with priority/key initiatives as defined by leadership (e.g., ad hoc data analyses/special initiatives, troubleshooting, and support). Supporting leadership and the business improvement committee with planning and organization of the business improvement project portfolio. Technical Advisory and Innovation: Providing technical/solution guidance, support, and insight to colleagues and stakeholders on an as-needed basis (outside of assigned projects). Growing and training self and Pattern team members: Researching and exploring new technologies and techniques that give Pattern a competitive edge. Qualifications Experience/Qualifications/Education Required At least 7 years in Energy Management specifically ETRM, Bid to Bill, and all applications that gather and provide data for Energy Systems. At least 5 years of project management experience, accompanied by project management professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent project management experience that ensures the individual is familiar with industry terminology, tools, and techniques. At least 5 years of cross-departmental business experience, which builds upon a BS or advanced degree (advanced degree preferred) in disciplines such as business information systems, business management systems, engineering (i.e., industrial or systems engineering), accounting, or business administration (i.e., MBA). At least 3 years of experience working in a medium to large corporate environment, preferably with a public company. Additional Requirements Skills & Ability: Demonstrated problem-solving and communication abilities, including: Working with cross-functional teams as a key contributor and/or project manager, driving solutions and producing results for major projects such as ERP, CRM, ETRM, and/or other business software implementations. Verbally, through mediums such as PowerPoint and process diagrams, and in the context of functional or technical design documentation, translating information and communications between technical and functional team members and business partners. Managing and engaging on multiple projects with competing needs and resource requirements. Change management and leadership experience associated with process and system enhancements. Improving organizational efficiencies by solving challenging and ambiguous problems with system and process solutions. Established proficiency in a variety of business applications, including: MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) – Proficiency in Excel formulas preferred. ETRM, B2B, and related Energy Pricing/Trade applications preferred. EPC, Land, ARCGIS an asset but not required. SharePoint, Lucid, Monday, ADO an asset. The expected starting pay range for this role is $118,000 - $160,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
